USA Aesthetics offers a range of advanced laser and energy devices, so Nidia Garcia, ARNP can match the right technology and intensity to your skin and your goals.

Our laser treatments

  • PicoLaser — targets pigment, sun spots, melasma, and uneven tone with minimal downtime
  • CO2 Fractional Resurfacing (Phoenix) — our most powerful option for deep texture, scarring, and significant aging
  • Erbium with RF Microneedling — pairs Erbium laser with microneedling to resurface, tighten, and smooth (see our PRF Facial & Microneedling page)

What lasers address

  • Fine lines, wrinkles, and crepey texture
  • Sun damage, brown spots, and uneven tone
  • Acne scars and enlarged pores
  • Dullness and overall skin laxity

What to expect

Because we offer several devices, your experience depends on the treatment chosen — from a quick, low-downtime Pico session to a more intensive CO2 resurfacing with several days of recovery. At your consultation we'll assess your skin, explain the realistic downtime, and build a plan (often a single treatment or a short series). Sun protection before and after is essential, which makes fall and winter ideal times to treat.

Who is a good candidate?

Laser resurfacing may be appropriate for people with sun damage, uneven tone, brown spots, rough texture, fine lines, or scarring who want brighter, smoother, more refined skin. Many clients come to us frustrated by stubborn pigment or sun spots that skincare alone hasn't budged. Treatment isn't ideal for everyone: an active infection or cold sore, recently sun-exposed or tanned skin, current isotretinoin use, and pregnancy are all reasons to wait. Because deeper resurfacing carries a pigment risk for richer and darker skin tones, your Fitzpatrick skin type is carefully assessed so we can choose the safest device and settings — Nidia tailors this at your visit. The best candidates also have realistic expectations and are willing to follow the aftercare and sun-protection guidance that protects their results. If laser isn't the right fit at this moment, we'll talk through gentler alternatives or the timing that would make treatment appropriate later. A consultation determines candidacy.

What to expect during treatment

Your appointment begins with a thorough cleanse of the treatment area. For deeper resurfacing, a topical numbing cream is applied and given time to take effect so you stay comfortable throughout; gentler Pico sessions usually need little to no numbing. Nidia then passes the laser over the skin in a controlled pattern, adjusting the device and settings to your concern and skin type. Most appointments take about 30 to 60 minutes depending on the modality chosen and the size of the area being treated, with a single-area Pico session at the shorter end and full-face CO2 toward the longer end.

During the pass you may notice warmth, a tingling, or a light snapping sensation — most clients find it very manageable, especially with numbing in place. We talk you through each step as we go so there are no surprises, and we'll cool and soothe the skin afterward before sending you home with clear, written aftercare instructions tailored to the treatment you received.

Recovery & results

Downtime depends entirely on the device used, which is one of the biggest reasons the consultation matters. After a Pico treatment, most people experience only mild redness for a few hours to a day or two, with minimal interruption to daily life — many clients return to normal activities the same day. CO2 resurfacing on our Phoenix device is more involved by design: because it works deeper to address wrinkles, texture, and scarring, you should plan for several days to about a week of redness, swelling, and peeling or flaking as fresh new skin surfaces. Erbium paired with microneedling sits in the middle, typically with a few days of redness.

Whichever path you choose, strict sun protection afterward is essential — both to protect your results and to reduce the risk of pigment changes while your skin heals. We'll guide you on gentle cleansing, moisturizing, and broad-spectrum SPF during the recovery window. Results build gradually over the following weeks as the skin renews and collagen rebuilds, so the smoother, brighter, more even finish continues to emerge rather than appearing overnight. Results vary from person to person based on skin type, the concern being treated, and the plan you and Nidia decide on together.

Which laser is right for you?

Because we offer three distinct resurfacing options, the right choice comes down to your concern, your skin, and how much downtime fits your life. The comparison below offers a quick overview of how they differ.

Laser Resurfacing FAQ

It depends on the laser. Pico treatments have minimal downtime; CO2 resurfacing involves several days of redness and peeling. We'll set clear expectations at your consultation.

That's exactly what your consultation determines. Nidia matches the device and intensity to your skin type, concern, and downtime tolerance.

Fall and winter are ideal because treated skin must be protected from sun exposure before and after treatment.

Some concerns resolve in a single resurfacing session; others (like pigment or scarring) do best with a short series. We'll outline your plan up front.

It depends on the device. A Pico treatment typically means mild redness for a few hours to a day or two, while CO2 resurfacing on our Phoenix device involves several days to about a week of redness, swelling, and peeling. We'll explain the realistic downtime for your plan at your consultation.

Laser may be appropriate across a range of skin tones, but richer and darker skin types need careful device selection and settings to reduce the risk of pigment changes. Nidia assesses your Fitzpatrick skin type and tailors the approach at your consultation so treatment is as safe as possible for you.

It varies by modality and concern. Pico is often recommended as a short series for pigment and tone, while CO2 resurfacing is usually a single larger treatment. Erbium with microneedling may be a single session or a short series. A consultation determines the plan that's right for you, and results vary.
